Tony Papenfuss

Tony holds a joint appointment at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research as Head of the Centre for Computational Biology and Lab Head in the Bioinformatics Division, and is Head of the Computational Cancer Biology Program at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

His research involves applying mathematics, statistics and computing to make sense of cancer data. His group develops and translates new bioinformatics methods, and uses these to understand the evolution of melanoma and rare cancers. Tony is current President of the Australian Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Society.
