Victoria Beshay

Victoria is the section leader of the germline genetics diagnostic laboratory, leading a team of 12 that specialises in identification and curation of cancer predisposition genes. Victoria has a Bachelor of Science University of Melbourne, graduating with Honours in 1997 and completed her PhD also from the University of Melbourne in 2001and is member of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.

Victoria has implemented novel tests for the detection of cancer genes, especially those associated with inherited disorders in breast, ovarian, prostate, colorectal, renal and skin cancers, more recently based on multi-gene panels. Victoria has an interest in quality and is regularly involved in accreditation of external laboratories through NATA.
